Every week many of us have a seemingly endless amount of things we want/need to do. I want to paint that picture. I want to write that post. I want to visit with my friends…I better shave first…We also do tons of other things we don’t even notice; Brush our teeth; Take out the garbage; Get an oil change and so very much more. Many of these tasks are on auto pilot. At least once each week I like to slow down for a moment and think about 3 things I did amazingly well! This can be anything. Anything I feel I did specially good this week. I was an especially good listener to my family or an especially good listener to myself haha. I usually like to write them down too. Most of the time, I am looking up at the proverbial mountain of achievement; The peaks of desire. I rarely take time to appreciate my efforts. It makes me feel good about myself to think about what I did super-duper for a change instead of what I do most of the time: looking for ways to improve. Sometimes I do something for myself to celebrate like buy myself a little present or have some dessert…It makes me happy to celebrate the little things. So next time you need a quick pick me up, remember or write down 3 things you did amazing this week! Oh and NO excuses allowed! Don’t be like: “I didn’t do anything amazing this week.” Lies! You so did! Be kind to yourself, breath deeply, relax, be still for a moment and the answers will come. The point is, they are small things…you could say: “I made a great cup of coffee on Tuesday” or “I cared extra for my dog this week” or “I read a super cool MickyMania post that inspired me to invent cold fusion. You know little things ๐
