There was a time, not long ago, that I would cook each and every meal fresh from scratch…I would be in the kitchen for hours everyday just trying to feed myself. My meals were very tasty, but I found myself running out of time each day wish I had time/energy for other essential tasks I needed to do. Then I discovered the magic of bulk cooking. I went from cooking 1 bowl of veggies for myself to cooking a whole pot of veggies that would last a week with about the same effort. I went from making one serving of savory meat sauce to a couple dozen servings and freezing some. I love to eat and eat well. Variety is the spice of life as they say. Cooking in bulk is now my secret sauce to eat a variety of tasty dishes each day without spending hours and hours in the kitchen each day. The difference between making a bowl of ice cream and a huge tube of ice cream is pretty much the same time and effort. Now I use one or maybe two afternoons a week doing all my major cooking for that week. When I get super busy and am hungry lots of healthy ready made dishes are waiting for me. Give cooking in bulk a try. If you don’t think you’re going to eat it all before it goes bad, freeze what you don’t think you’ll use until later. It’s an amazing tasty time saver!
